Answers:

  1. How large is your world banknote reference collection?
Our world paper money reference collection is extensive, covering almost 300 existing and obsolete countries. Direct comparisons with similar notes from a given country are done during the identification and grading process.

Our comprehensive library also provides superior attribution information and helps with authentication.

  2. What information is listed on the paper money grading label?
Country identification, catalog number(s), denomination, grade with appropriate comments, signature identification, date, serial number, printer, and other specific characteristics beneficial to improved attribution.
    - Please review our label diagram for details.

  3. What types of banknotes do you grade?
In addition to issued banknotes from both exisiting and obsolete countries, WBG encourages banknote specimens, replacement notes, proofs, essays, errors, and unlisted material. We also grade fantasy banknotes, Disney currency, contemporary forgeries, etc...
    - If you have any special requests, please contact us.

  4. Are there any types of banknotes you do not grade?
Yes. We do not grade notes in special presentation folders unless you first remove the notes.

From time to time we also decline specific banknotes from some countries (particularly China) and we post this in the submission information on our website as needed.

  5. Do you grade US banknotes?
Yes. We grade banknotes from almost every country, which includes North America.

  6. How do I submit banknotes to be graded?
Complete a submission form and send it with a method of payment in an appropriately protected and insured mailing. We also attend major shows and accept submissions on site.
    - Please see our submission form and instructions for details.

  7. How long does it take to get my banknotes back?
For standard grading, you can expect your notes shipped within 20 working days of receipt. We also have expedited service levels if you need your notes graded more quickly (2-3 working days).
    - Please see our grading services and pricing for details.

  8. I have more than 20 banknotes that need to be graded, what do I do?
Submit your notes on separate forms of up to 20 notes each. If you are interested in submitting a very large collection for grading, please contact us in advance and we will provide suggestions to customize your order.

  9. Why exactly 20 notes per order?
20 note packages are easy to manage. 20 notes fit on a single-page order submission. 20 notes helps to keep maximum shipping value for insurance to a reasonable level. $50 off of 20 notes provides a discount and encourages business.

Please note that bulk orders of the exact same note are handled differently.

  10. Do you grade world banknotes for currency dealers?
Yes. Professional paper money dealers are some of our best customers. Third party graded notes eliminate the question of "grade" from the customer conversation.

Whether you're a professional dealer or a collector and have questions please contact us.

  11. Do you grade world banknotes for auctions?
Yes. Graded notes often command a premium price at both live and online auctions and eliminate many returned lots.

Auction companies are invited to contact us to discuss your specific needs and our Auction Express Service.

  12. Can you grade my specialized collection of world banknotes?
Yes. And, depending on the size of your collection, we may be able to provide special pricing or honor other requests.
    - Please contact us to discuss it personally.

  13. Can I consign or sell my banknotes to World Banknote Grading?
Yes. World Banknote Grading has an ecommerce consignment site available dealers and collectors. Please visit the site at sales.worldbanknotegrading.com.

World Banknote Grading does not buy notes to post for sale, rather we have built a platform and handle the management of sales for dealer partners. All notes on the sales site have been evaluated and graded by WBG, so you can buy with confidence.

Having your notes professional graded may also help you sell your notes independently since grade can be difficult to ascertain when not viewing the note in person. Third party grading is especially helpful when selling notes online or to a non-local dealer or collector with whom you may not have a relationship.

Let World Banknote Grading remove the "haggle factor" over final grade and condition.

  14. Do you grade banknotes on location at major shows?
Currently we are attending major shows and accepting submissions in person, but we are not grading notes onsite at the show. This may change in the future, so please see our homepage for "on site" details.

  15. Where are your paper money grading services located?
Our grading operation is based in Minot, North Dakota. The slogan for correct pronunciation is "Why not Minot?" One answer is "Freezin's the reason!"

The "Magic City" has three other beautiful seasons and a year-round booming energy-based economy.

  16. Can I travel to visit you in person and have my banknotes graded?
Yes. North Dakota would welcome you and we would be honored to provide a behind the scenes look at our operation.

You would be using our "Immediate Service" level (see grading services and pricing) and any on-site visit must be scheduled in advance.
